SANTA CLARA, CA - Former Gamecock wide receiver Bruce Ellington will be looking for a new NFL home. His comeback attempt with the 49ers was cut short. San Francisco waived the four-year pro this afternoon.
Ellington was finally getting back on the field during camp after a suffering a torn hamstring that sidelined him for the 2016 season.
The 2014 fourth round pick finishes with 19 catches for 215 yards and two touchdowns to go along with a rushing score in his 49ers career. He also tallied almost 2,000 return yards as well.
