Clowney Gets $22 Million Deal from Texans

COLUMBIA – Former South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, the No. 1 pick in the 2014 NFL draft, has reportedly signed his contract.

According to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, the Rock Hill native signed a four-year deal worth $22.27 million. More than $14 million of that total is believed to be a signing bonus, according to the Chronicle.

Clowney is the 18th first-round pick to sign a contract, which contains a team option for a fifth year.

Clowney also has an endorsement deal with sporting goods manufacturer Puma.
