Elgin, SC (WLTX) --- Josh Ruiz is described by his high school football coach as a throwback player.
The senior plays offense, defense and special teams for the Lugoff-Elgin Demons, something you don't usually see at the 4A level. But Ruiz approaches football with a passion to win. That drive also carries over into his schoolwork where Josh is ranked 13th in the senior class.
Voted a co-captain of the football team, Josh also starts for the Lugoff-Elgin baseball team. A busy schedule year-round is nothing new for Josh who took time out from his busy schedule to receive and jacket, plaque and Rush's gift card as the latest News 19 Player of the Week.
