Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Dodgers on
Tuesday placed pitcher Chad Billingsley on the 15-day disabled list
(retroactive to July 8), and recalled pitcher Stephen Fife from Triple-A
Albuquerque.
The right-hander, who has struggled to a 4-9 record and 4.30 earned run
average in 18 starts this season, is sidelined with inflammation in his
pitching elbow.
Taking his place on the roster is Fife, who will make his major-league debut
against Philadelphia's Roy Halladay.
A 25-year-old righty, Fife was 7-5 with a 4.53 ERA in 18 starts at Triple-A
this year.
