Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Bryce Harper homered in his return, Jordan
Zimmermann went six innings to earn his 12th win and the Washington Nationals
upended the Milwaukee Brewers, 10-5, in the opener of a four-game series.
Harper had missed 31 games due to left knee bursitis but showed little
discomfort in belting a solo shot off Yovani Gallardo in the first inning.
Jayson Werth went 2-for-5 with five RBI to highlight a 13-hit effort behind
Zimmermann (12-3), who remained unbeaten in 10 starts at Nationals Park this
season following a so-so outing that saw him surrender four runs on nine hits.
Rickie Weeks and Juan Francisco both homered for Milwaukee, but the club
matched a season-high with its sixth straight loss.

and Marcell Ozuna drove in one run for the Marlins, who have won six of their

Flushing, NY (Sports Network) - Andrew Brown's two-run single in the bottom of
the 13th lifted the New York Mets over the Arizona Diamondbacks, 5-4, in the
opener of a four-game set at Citi Field. Brown's hit came with two strikes
and two outs for the Mets, who improved to 2-2 on their current seven-game
homestand. Marlon Byrd added three hits for New York, which won despite
leaving 20 runners on base and going just 5-for-20 with runners in scoring
position. Cody Ross homered to lead off the 13th inning, but it wasn't
enough for Arizona, which also struggled at the plate, leaving 11 runners on
base, going just 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position and tallying just
five hits over the final seven innings off the Mets bullpen. Paul Goldschmidt
added a two-run homer and Aaron Hill went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run
scored for the NL West-leading Diamondbacks, who have dropped four straight,
fell to 1-6 on their current 10-game road trip and lost for the seventh
time in eight games overall.

game and Todd Frazier belted a three-run homer and drove in four runs, as the
Cincinnati Reds pounded the San Francisco Giants, 8-1, on a rainy night at
Great American Ball Park. Derrick Robinson had a two-run double and Zack
Cozart also knocked in a pair as the Reds won for just the third time in their
last 10 games. Arroyo (7-6) allowed two hits and had three strikeouts to
log his first complete game of the season and 14th of his career. He also
broke a personal four-game winless skid and moved to 6-1 at home this year.
