South Carolina State was scheduled to play its first home game of the season Saturday against Bethune-Cookman, but now the Bulldogs will have to wait a little longer for their first game at Dawson-Bulldog Stadium.
Due to concerns over Hurricane Matthew, Saturday's game in Orangeburg with Bethune-Cookman has been postponed to a later date. Officials with both schools will join MEAC officials Wednesday on a conference call to determine when the game will be made up.
South Carolina State started off the season with four consecutive road games - UCF, Louisiana Tech and Clemson are all FBS schools. The fourth game on the schedule was a MEAC opener at Florida A&M, a 48-14 Bulldog win on September 24th.
With an open week and now this postponement, the Bulldogs will play their first game in three weeks on October 15 when they travel to Howard University in Washington, DC.
The next schedule home game is October 22 against Delaware State.
