Frisco, TX (Sports Network) - FC Dallas has added some depth to its stable of
attackers by announcing the signing of Brazilian striker Wesley "Pipico" Silva
on Tuesday.
"Pipico is a dynamic player who gives us some depth at the forward position
and allows us to transition into playing in a 4-4-2 system," said FC Dallas
head coach Schellas Hyndman. "He is an intelligent attacking player with solid
finishing ability."
Pipico has spent time with three different clubs in Brazil's lower division,
enjoying stints with Floresta, Cabofriense and Bangu before joining Macae in
the first division in 2011.
The 27-year-old appeared in 36 matches for Macae before making the switch to
famed Brazilian club Vasco da Gama, where he made seven appearances off the
bench in 2012.
Pipico will be added to the FC Dallas roster pending the receipt of his P-1
visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC). Per team and MLS policy,
the terms of the deal were not disclosed.
