Some High School Football Games Will Be Played

While the majority of the state has postponed high school football for this week, there are games which will be taking place tonight.

North Central will travel to Cheraw for a 7:00 pm contest while Newberry will also be on the road for a contest against Broome with that game kicking off at 7:30 p.m.

Mid-Carolina will make the short drive to Clinton to face the Red Devils at 7:30 p.m.

Schools in the Midlands, Pee Dee and the Lowcountry will take advantage of the SCHSL extending the season by a week for those teams who could not play due to the expected impact of Hurricane Matthew.

Upstate teams will be able to use that extended week as a bye week to get ready for the playoffs.

In the SCISA ranks, Hammond's game at Porter Gaud has been cancelled, while Richard Winn Academy will host Curtis Baptist at 6:30 pm tonight

Also in the independent ranks, three Monday games are scheduled. Ben Lippen hosts Orangeburg Prep and Heathwood Hall travels to Cardinal Newman. Those games are scheduled for 6;30 p.m. Wilson Hall is tentatively scheduled to host Pinewood Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
