Kitzbuhel, Austria (Sports Network) - Lukas Rosol of the Czech Republic and
American Wayne Odesnik were first-round winners Sunday on the opening day of
play at the Kitzbuhel Cup.
Rosol, best known for taking out Rafael Nadal in the second round at Wimbledon
earlier this year, notched a 7-6 (7-4), 6-1 victory over Teymuraz Gabashvili
of Russia.
Odesnik, meanwhile, rallied for a 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 win over Brazil's Joao Souza.
Those were the only two matches in the main draw on Sunday.
First-round play continues Monday in the tournament that features Germany's
Philipp Kohlschreiber as the top seed and countrymate Florian Mayer as the
second seed. Holland's Robin Haase is seeded third, followed by Spain's Albert
Ramos. All four top seeds have byes into the second round.
