The "Skai's" The Limit For USC LB

Redshirt senior linebacker Skai Moore would love nothing more than to make his comeback year his best yet at Carolina.

USC redshirt senior linebacker Skai Moore is trying to make his presence felt in the first days of preseason camp.

Skai missed all of 2016 as he was recovering from a neck injury, so this will be his first camp with Will Muschamp where he is a particpant instead of an observer. Even though it was in Moore's benefit to sit out the year, it did not make it any easier.

"Yeah, that was a challenge being on the sidelines and trying to motivate guys," Moore said.

"Going from a player to almost like a player-coach type deal. Just helping guys the best way I can."

But after going through spring practice, Moore is excited to play his first game since in 17 months. But first things first and that means having a productive preseason.

"Feel good, haven't had any issues at all," Moore said.

"I'm attacking this camp full go. I'm attacking this season full go. It's going to be good."

USC head coach Will Muschamp was encourage from what he saw from #10 after the doctors gave Moore the green light to resume his football career.

"I think he had a great spring," said Muschamp.

"He probably feels like he’s been in the best shape he’s been in. He’s up to 225 lbs. He’s moving extremely well. I think I’m expecting him to play extremely well."

Moore has a chance to set a new standard at USC. His three previous seasons saw him lead the team in tackling. No USC player has ever done that for an entire four-year career, but Moore can be the first this season.

"It's a goal," said Moore.

"It's definitely in the back of my mind. It's something that I guess is pretty cool. Hopefully, I can come out every Saturday and perform and get that goal as well."
