USC Basketball Learns SEC Schedule

The SEC released its men's basketball schedule on Tuesday and USC will open the conference schedule on January 4 at Georgia.

The SEC home opener is January 7 against Texas A&M, a game that will tip off at either 1:30 pm or 4:30 pm on CBS, depending on the NFL playoff schedule.

Carolina has just one game against annual favorite Kentucky, Jan. 21 at Kentucky.

Last year the SEC announced a new scheduling format, with each team having three permanent opponents, and facing two other teams each season in a home-and-home series on a rotating basis.

In 2017 the Gamecocks will face their three permanent opponents – Georgia, Tennessee and Mississippi State – along with Florida and Ole Miss in a home-and-home series. USC will face the remaining league teams once.

USC finished the 2015-2016 season 11-7 in the SEC  which was good enough for a three-way tie for third. However, the Gamecocks earned the third seed in the conference tournament.
