USC hopes to continue its defensive improvement Saturday against Missouri.
Carolina had a strong effort in the 24-21 win over Tennessee, allowing two touchdowns with the third Volunteer score coming off a kickoff return.
USC head coach Will Muschamp says the players are doing a much better job of getting off blocks and as a result, the defense is in position to make more big plays.
“We’ve changed some things in how we practice and how we approach things and our players have responded,” Muschamp said.
“Our players have a lot of belief and a lot of confidence in what we’re doing. They’re playing with a lot of confidence.”
Kickoff with the Tigers from Columbia is set for 4:00 p.m.
