Washington, DC (Sports Network) - The Washington Mystics announced on Monday they have acquired center Quanitra Hollingsworth from the New York Liberty.
In exchange, the Liberty received Washington's third-round pick (25th overall) in Monday's WNBA Draft.
Hollingsworth, a former first-round pick in 2009, spent the 2012 season playing for the Turkish National Team that placed fifth in the most recent Olympic Games. She averaged 10.8 points and 5.7 rebounds.
Due to her commitments with the Turkish squad, she will join the Mystics in July.
"Although Quanitra will be in Turkey for the month of June with the National Team for the European Championships, we feel that her talent level will improve our roster down the road," said Mystics coach and general manager Mike Thibault.
Hollingsworth has made two starts in 90 games over the course of her WNBA career, averaging 3.9 points and 3.2 rebounds per game.
