James was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. He graduated from Capital University, where he was a captain and two-time-All-American on the football team as a defensive back.

James was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio.

He graduated from Capital University, where he was a captain and two-time-All-American on the football team as a defensive back.

Following college, James singed as a free agent with the Cincinnati Bengals. From there, James worked out for several Arena Football League teams before joining the Ancona Dolphins in Italy.

After returning to the states, James decided to earn his M.A. in Broadcast Journalism at Kent State University. While enrolled as a full-time student, James worked for both WOIO and Fox 8 in Cleveland as a sports anchor and sideline reporter.

James knew he wanted to be a sports reporter when he first started watching ESPN's SportsCenter as a teenager. It was a great way for him to combine his love of sports and writing. He joined WLTX in August and is excited to be covering the USC Gamecocks and the Clemson Tigers. He appreciates telling great sports stories.

In his free time, he likes to be in the gym. In addition to working out, his favorite sports to watch are football, basketball, and soccer, to name a few.
