SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- A 10-year-old Sacramento boy has become one of the youngest students to ever graduate from high school.
Tanishq Abraham received his high school diploma Sunday in front of family and friends at a private ceremony at the California Auto Museum. He even received a letter from President Barack Obama congratulating him on his graduation.
The home-schooled prodigy successfully met the state requirements to graduate and earned a 4.0 GPA.
"It wasn't, like, easy, but it was not that hard either," Tanishq said.
"The way my brain works is that when you give me something, information about that topic comes into my mind," he said. "I don't know what it is but that's how it is for me."
Tanishq's mom, Taji Abraham, said she "had a hunch he was a little gifted. "Once we got a formal IQ test, that's when we figured it out," she said.
He scored high on the SAT's and is already taking college courses.
"My ultimate goal would be science, like scientist or doctor, but also want to be president, too," Abraham said.
