CLEVELAND (WKYC/WLTX) -- Someone looking for a job received a response from a Cleveland professional that many are saying was very "unprofessional" on LinkedIn.
The woman runs a job bank with over 7300 subscribers. But since this dust-up, her Twitter account and Linked-in have been deactivated and she is not responding to this controversy.
This is part of the response it reads: Your invite to connect is inappropriate…beneficial only to you and tacky. Wow I cannot wait to let every 26 year old jobseeker mine my top tier marketing connections to help them land a job.
She goes on to say: I love the sense of entitlement in your generation and therefore I enjoy denying your invite.
At the end it says you're welcome for your humility lesson for the year don't ever reach out to senior practitioners again and assume their carefully curated list of connections is available to you just because you want to build your network. Don't ever write me again.
Pretty tough stuff. It's a cautionary tale that there are consequences to every action on social media.
WKYC reached out to a social media expert, Stefanie Moore, Assistant Professor at Kent State.
She says first employers and hiring professionals should post policy of who they accept invitations from. Also Linked-in requests should be customized. Don't send out mass connection requests (make it personal).

When we posted a copy of the response on the News 19 WLTX Facebook Page, we expected a response from our Facebook following, but there have been hundreds of reactions.
Comments include how rude and unprofessional the response was, how a better staff leader might have responded with words of encouragement, and many comments that are not fit for public display.
