Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Famed author Pat Conroy is making his way to the Township Auditorium Thursday night as part of the One Book, One Columbia program.

It's an initiative held every February in the capital city designed to promote literacy and show how important it is to have the ability to read. Each one book is picked for the community to read and this year's selection is "My Reading Life" by Pat Conroy.

To celebrate the event Conroy will talk with historian Walter Edgar with a book signing to follow after. This event will take place at Township Auditorium at 7 p.m. at 1703 Taylor Street.

Tickets are free and available at all Richland Library locations, the One Columbia office at 1219 Taylor Street, the Columbia Museum of Art and the Township Box Office.
