COLUMBIA, SC (WLTX) -- The popular Lizard's Thicket restaurant has 15 locations around South Carolina, and one will receive a makeover soon.
Beginning August 3rd, the Beltline Blvd. location of Lizard's Thicket will close for several weeks for renovation.
While renovations are underway, employees of the restaurant being renovated have been given opportunity to work at any of the other Lizard's Thicket locations, and return when construction is complete.
Nearby locations that will be an alternative for diehard fans of the restaurant include those on Forest Drive and Garners Ferry Road.
Once complete, the interior of the renovated facility will be closer in appearance to newer Lizard's Thicket locations, including wood flooring, designated carryout parking, a new roof, and new front doors.
"We have so many long-time customers that love the Lizard's Thicket Beltline location, and we want to update the restaurant as a thank you to them," said Bobby Williams, Chairman of Lizard's Thicket. "The renovations will reflect an updated look and feel that our newer locations have, but customers will instantly feel at home and of course, we'll still serve the delicious traditional Southern cooking our customers know and love."
Operating in South Carolina for the last 35 years, the Lizard's Thicket chain of restaurants has remained a family-owned and operated destination for traditional Southern fare.
