Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Power has been restored to Benedict college after a spliced line caused an issue to their power grid.

The spliced line knocked out power to seven buildings including three on-campus dorms.

According to Benedict spokesperson, Kymm Hunter, students were notified by email and in person of the outages.

"Gregory Electric, which is our powercompany, has been working on repairing the grid since last night," said Hunter. "Generators have been brought in there are currently on campus now. They will be powering up the dorms and they will be powering up the dorms tonight."

The generatorswill providetemporary power tonight. A part has been over-nighted to the school to fix the issue.

Hunter said no classes are cancelled.
