Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Columbia police say a man shot an employee of a restaurant in Five Points Saturday morning.

The incident took place outside the Cook Out on Harden Street.

According to police, an employee was in his car when a man with a gun approached him and demanded money. As the employee tried to back out, the suspect fired at least one round into the car, hitting the employee in the shoulder.

The victim was taken to the hospital with what are described as non life-threatening injuries.
