Orangeburg, SC (WLTX) - Orangeburg County Sheriff Deputies have arrested a Cordova man in connection with a meth lab bust on Wednesday.

Sheriff Leroy Ravenell says officers were given a tip that two people were cooking meth on Alexis Road in Orangeburg.

According to investigators, when they arrived at the residence, they were able to detect a strong odor and observed items used in making methamphetamine.

Sheriff Ravenell says that 41-year-old Gerald Thomas was at the residence. When investigators asked Thomas if there was meth in the house he said he wasn't sure.

According to the Sheriff, "Thomas requested that officers retrieve a pack of cigarettes from a bedroom in the home so he could smoke. Inside the cigarette pack, officers located a blue zip lock bag containing a substance believed to be meth."

Officers say Thomas was taken into custody for outstanding warrants and for admitting to possessing more than 10 grams of methamphetamine as well as manufacturing the drug. Thomas is being held on $25,940 bond.

Sheriff Ravenell said based on the scene investigation, a second suspect, 42-year-old Shelly Faulling whoresides at the Alexis Road home, is alsowanted for cooking meth at the address. Faulling was not at the scene during the investigation.
