Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- The Elgin Police Department is seeking the public's assistance inidentifying a suspect who robbed the Dollar General Store on Main Street in Elgin Saturday night.

At around 8pm Saturday night the suspect entered the store. He immediately went to the counter to purchase a pack of candy, and when the cashier opened the drawer to make change, the suspect pulled a hand gun from the waist band of his pants and pointed it, telling her to back away from the drawer.

The suspect then removed all the cash from the register and fled the store, last seen heading towards the Elgin library.
