Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- A Lexington resident has come forward with his winning ticket for a $2 million Powerball draw.
The Lexington man, who's identity has not been revealed, says he started his morning like any other, getting up and cooking breakfast. He remembered that he had a Powerball ticket in his truck then, so he went outside and grabbed it.
After checking the numbers, he said: "I broke down," after discovering the ticket he had purchased at the Corner Pantry on Farrow Road had matched the first five numbers in the Wednesday, Oct. 31st Powerball drawing.
Had he matched the red Powerball number, his jackpot would have gone from $2 million to $110 million. Still, he says he's not disappointed with the results.
For now he plans on heading back to work, as a supervisor in Lexington, but says that early retirement may be a real possibility for him now, depending upon the performance of investing the winnings.
The odds of winning the $2 million jackpot from Powerball is a little over five million to one.
