Columbia, SC (WLTX) --- During halftime of Sunday's game between South Carolina and Clemson, former Gamecock Henry Martin was honored as an SEC Legend.
Henry Martin (1943, 1947-49), the first 1,000 point scorer in South Carolina history. He finished his career with 1,082 points. Martin had a career scoring average of 12.2 points per game. During his senior season, Martin turned it up a notch averaging 16.0 points per game. He dropped 32 points in his final game against rival Clemson.
Martin was inducted into The University of South Carolina's Hall of Fame in 2008. He and the rest of the 2012 SEC Legends class will be recognized during the SEC Men's Basketball Tournament March 8-11.
