Jonesboro, AR (Sports Network) - Isaiah Canaan poured in 18 points as the Murray State Racers took care of the Arkansas State Red Wolves, 61-54, in a non-conference bout at the ASU Convocation.

The Racers (9-1) outrebounded the Red Wolves, 41-30. Stacy Wilson scored 12 points and grabbed 13 boards. Murray State also won despite turning the ball over 18 times while dishing out just six assists.

Ed Townsel netted 15 points for ASU (6-4) which shot just 2-of-15 from three- point range as a team. Brandon Peterson registered a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards. Raeford Worsham scored 13 points and added four steals off the bench.

Arkansas State led 27-26 at halftime after holding the Racers to 1-of-11 shooting from behind the arc in the opening 20 minutes.

The second half was tight until the end when ASU failed to make a field goal in the final 3:53 of action. Murray State converted 5-of-10 from distance and 8-of-10 at the charity stripe in the second half walk away with the seven- point decision.

Arkansas State loses at home for the first time this season while Murray State improves to 4-0 on the road. The Red Wolves went 2-of-15 from beyond the arc and lost the rebounding battle, 41-30.
