Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- Columbia City Council has offered the city manager position to Teresa Wilson. Wilson is currently the Assistant City Manager for Development and Government Affairs.

Wilson will replace Steve Gantt who has served as interim City Manager since February of 2009 and has worked with the city since 2001.

Wilson's current responsibilities include: Parks and Recreation Department, community development, economic development, grants and government affairs.

A spokesperson for the city says candidates from all across the country were interviewed for the position.

The city says Wilson's accomplishments include reducing the Commercial Revolving Loan Fund's default rate from 29% to 4%, implementing the Facade Grant program, and supplementing services like public safety with nearly $60 million in grant funds.
