(WLTX) --- USC's first workout in Tampa in preparation for the Outback Bowl was not one of the better ones according to head coach Steve Spurrier who called it "so-so".

"It was a so-so practice this morning," Spurrier said.

"The guys acted like they hadn't practiced in about five days. Hopefully we can pick the pace up a little bit tomorrow and the next day as we get ready for the game."

Spurrier also made note of the fact that a win over Michigan would give him three bowl victories at USC, the most ever at Carolina. Spurrier and Lou Holtz each have two bowl wins.
