Sumter, SC (WLTX)- The Sumter Boy Scout Troop 339 prides themselves on their service work and patches which show off their accomplishments.

A few weeks ago, Scout Master Erick Caddick, wrapping up after one of their scout meetings noticed something missing from their parking lot.

"It took us three years to raise money for the trailer filled with brand new camping gear."

The troop had the trailer for only six months before they noticed it missing.

The 7 by 12 foot trailer sat in the American Legion 15 lot off Artillary Drive in Sumter. The incident report filed with the Sumter Police Department on December 10, 2012, shows the trailer was valued at over six thousand dollars and was full of camping gear worth over four thousand dollars.

"I am pretty disappointed because we went through so much to get the trailer and we only got to use it a couple of times before someone decided to steal it," said Jason Woodbury, Senior Patrol Leader.

Troop 339 will start 2013 with a new goal: collecting cans and organizing spaghetti dinners to raise money for new camping equipment.

If you would like to donate to the troop you can contact Erik Craddick at: (803)-539-1192.
