Kershaw, SC (WLTX) - Kershaw County Deputies have arrested a man they say was clocked going 120 MPH in a 55MPH zone on US 521 heading into Camden.
Deputies say they were patrolling on US 521 when they saw 19-year old Herman Lorenzo Bulluck III speeding on the highway.
According to officials, when the patrolling officer turned on his blue lights, Bulluck sped off. A second traffic officer joined the chase but deputies say they had to back off when the speeds became too high upon entering the Camden city limits.
Deputies say officers from other agencies were notified of the chase and a SC State Trooper was able to stop the motorcycle in front of the SC Highway Patrol Office on Ehrenclou Drive in Camden.
"My officers told me that they estimated the motorcycle's speed to be well in excess of 150 MPH as the motorcyclist fled, and this on a two lane road. This turned into another case of being able to outrun the patrol cars, but not the radio. What began for Mr. Bulluck as a nice motorcycle ride on a nice day, ended up as nice ride in the backseat of our patrol car on the way to jail," said Sheriff Matthews. "Fortunately, no one was hurt or killed because of this man's irresponsibility."
Bulluck is being detained at the Kershaw County Detention Center and has been charged with speeding, failure to stop for a blue light, driving with not insurance and driving with a suspended tag. He has no previous infractions on his driving record.
