Sumter, S.C. (WLTX)-- An early morning wreck today in Sumter County has claimed the life of a Sumter man.
Coroner Harvin Bullock confirms that 22-year-old Dustin Kennedy died as a result of massive trauma.
According to the S.C. Highway Patrol, the wreck happened just before 4 a.m. along S.C. Highway 441, also known as Peach Orchard Road. Investigators say Kennedy was driving the a car that went off the road, while rounding a curb, and struck a tree.
They say Kennedy was ejected from the vehicle, as a result of the wreck. He was not wearing a seat belt.
