Laramie, WY (Sports Network) - Colton Iverson scored a career-high 29 points and grabbed eight rebounds as the Colorado State Rams coasted to a 78-56 victory over the Wyoming Cowboys at the Arena Auditorium.
Dorian Green chipped in 18 points for the Rams (23-7. 10-5 MWC), who have now won two of their last three games. Greg Smith scored 12 points and Pierce Hornung grabbed 10 boards.
Larry Nance, Jr. paced Wyoming (18-12, 4-12) with 16 points and five rebounds. Derrious Gilmore tallied 12 points as the Cowboys closed out their regular season with five consecutive losses.
The Rams dominated the boards in the first half, outrebounding the hosts, 18-4. Colorado State knocked down 63.3 percent of its field goal attempts and scored 24 points in the paint en route to a 47-32 halftime lead. Iverson scored 20 of his points before the break to lead the early charge.
The Cowboys tried to chip away at the lead by hitting on 50 percent of their field goal tries after the intermission. The Rams still managed to extend their lead by draining 59.2 percent of their shots from the floor.
Colorado State held a 35-11 rebounding edge and outscored the hosts, 34-22, in the paint.
