Turbeville, SC (WLTX) -- A 15-year-old student of East Clarendon Middle-High School faces charges after officers say he brought an unloaded .38 to school.
According to Clarendon County Sheriff Randy Garrett, the student had the unloaded revolver in his front pants pocket Wednesday, and was reported to school officials by other students.
The school's resource officer seized the gun, without incident, and the teen was taken into custody. He has since been released into the custody of his parents.
The boy is charged with Possession of A Weapon on School Property, and hearings are forthcoming before the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice.
