Columbia, SC (WLTX) --- Freshman Max Shrock's RBI-double in the ninth inning proved to be the deciding factor as 11th ranked South Carolina won the first game of their series at Tennessee by a score of 5-4.

Tyler Webb earned the win with his 1 2/3 innings of relief work. The Gamecocks improve to 24-7 overall, 6-4 in SEC play. The two teams will square off in the second game of the series Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
