(WLTX) --- Two of the Midlands' top girls' basketball players are in the news.

Dutch Fork senior Alaina Coates, who recently helped the Silver Foxes win their second consecutive state championship, has earned Third-Team All-USA honors from USA Today, the same newspaper which hadDutch Fork ranked fifth in the country at season's end.

A McDonald's All-American, Coates has signed to play at USC.

Coates will join former Spring Valley standout Asia Dozier at USC and now another Columbia standout says she wants to play for Dawn Staley.

Dreher's Kaydra Duckett has verbally committed to USC. She averaged 17 points and 5 rebounds this past season.

Two seasons ago as a sophomore, Duckett helped Dreher capture the 3A state title.
