(WLTX) --- Longtime high school football coach Bill Kimrey has been hired by Calhoun County to take over the Saints' football program.

Kimrey is a veteran of the sidelines with more than 30 years in the business. His most recent head coaching stints were at Lower Richland and Dutch Fork. In fact, he was the athletics director and head football coach at Dutch Fork for 18 seasons.

When he stepped down after the 2009 season, Kimrey said his next head coaching job would not have the AD duties attached to it.

After three years as a part-time paid assistant at Hammond working with his son, Erik, the elder Kimrey will be back in the coaching arena full-time in 2013.
