Greenville, SC (GreenvilleOnline) -- Southwest Airlines has cut two of its seven daily nonstop departures from Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport, an airline official said today.
The airline has eliminated nonstop service to Orlando and dropped one of two daily nonstop flights to Baltimore/Washington, a Southwest spokeswoman told GreenvilleOnline.com.
Southwest still operates daily nonstops to and from GSP at Chicago Midway, Nashville and Houston, according to the airline's new flight schedule this month.
The airline dropped the nonstops to Orlando and BWI earlier this year and didn't reinstate them in the new schedule, the airline spokeswoman said.
Southwest came to Greenville-Spartanburg in 2011 in a much heralded airline announcement.
The Southwest spokeswoman said passenger volume to Orlando didn't warrant continuing a nonstop flight, but airline officials are pleased with the volumes to the other cities.
