Planning a future hiking trip, or trying to determine the best days to head to the pool? A new Apple iOS app helps make those choices much easier.
Foresee ($0.99) combines outdoor activities with weather data to help users decide the best days and times to enjoy specific events.
When users first launch the app, it automatically discovers your location (if you have Location services Off, you can manually add your city).
From there, users see a list of 72 outdoor activities, represented by slick icons. They range from athletic endeavors such as running, mountain biking and sailing to more relaxing pursuits such as stargazing, barbecuing or "ice cream time."
After picking an activity, users choose their ideal time and at least one ideal weather condition, such as temperature and wind. For example, you may prefer Kite Flying between 12-6 p.m., with temperatures between 55 and 85 degrees and winds between 10-35 miles per hour.
Once favorites activities have been set, users can simply scroll across to view the best days for that event. Users swipe left to right to move between as many as 10 days. Smiley faces ranging from blue ones with big smiles to gray ones with frowns help users decide the best time to venture out.
Foresee is fun and easy to use, and offers a handy guide for planning your outdoor activities. Of course, users can still plan out their activities by simply checking one of several free weather apps. But if you're seeking a simple and sleek planner, Foresee is a solid option.
