Ben Revere had two hits and drove in a run while Michael Young also had an RBI for the Phillies, who took three of four in the set and have won six of their last eight games.
Kyle Kendrick (8-6) bounced back from a pair of rough outings as he gave up just a run on five hits over seven innings to get the win.
Ryan Zimmerman drove in the only run of the game for the Nationals, who had won four straight coming into the series. Jordan Zimmermann (12-4) was touched for two runs on eight hits with six strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings of work.
