The event will begin with a rally on the State House grounds at 10a.m., where severalpeople will speak to the crowd. The group will then march through downtown Columbia to gather at theMatthew J. Perry Federal Court House at11 a.m. Once there, the group will circle the building as part of the 100 city vigil being held across the country.

Organizer Chris Sullivan said the goal of the rally is to raise awareness.

"The focus of this rally is solely on the issue of social justice and the injustices that we experience on our community on a daily basis," Sullivan said. "Trayvon is just a symbol of this new movement. We want to take a negative and turn it into a positive."

Event organizers also want people to bring school supplies and non-perishable food items to the rally.
