Fort Wayne, IN (Sports Network) - Gabriella Then defeated Lakareber Abe, 2 & 1, in Saturday's 36-hole final to win the U.S. Girls' Junior Championship.

The pair were all square with three holes to play at Sycamore Hills Golf Club before Then grabbed the lead with a par at the 34th.

After both players went left of the fairway off the next tee, Then dropped a deft approach 10 feet above the hole. Abe, meanwhile, flew the green and landed near a group of trees in the rough, but she recovered with a chip to about six feet.

Then rendered that shot irrelevant, draining her birdie putt to lock up the 2 & 1 championship victory.

On Friday, Then advanced to the championship match with a pair of victories, as she fended off Yueer Feng, 1-up, in the quarters before holding off Megan Khang, 2 & 1, in the semifinals.

Abe ousted Kathleen Scavo, 4 & 3, in the quarters. In the semifinals, Abe fought off Bethany Wu, 1-up.
