Sumter, SC (WLTX) -- Two administrators at the Sumter School District have announced their plans to leave their positions.

Chief Operations Officer Robert Hutchens will retire effective August 15, and Chief of Schools Dr. Cassandra Dixon will resign effective August 16.

Dr. Dixon was hired on July 25, 2011 by now outgoing Superintendent Randolph Bynum.

Hutchens started with Sumter School District 17 in 1990, and and had served as a district administrator for nine years.

The Sumter School Board announced last week that Superintendent Randolph Bynum would be resigning effective August 30th. The district has not yet said who will lead the district after that time.

The district's Board of Trustees will meet tonight (Monday) at 6 pm at the Alice Drive Middle School gym. News19 is told there will not be any public input taken during the meeting.
