Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- Aiming to provide Veterans with advice on benefits and claims, students from USC will assist the Richland County Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division.

RCBA's Young Lawyers will conduct "Richland County Project Salute," a "Stand Down" initiative, from 9AM to Noon on Saturday, August 10th. USC's Service Members and Veterans in Law organization will participate.

The students won't be providing direct legal assistance though, they will facilitate the event put on by RCBA's Young Lawyers Division, in the lobby of the University Of South Carolina School of Law at 701 Main Street in Columbia.

The event will give South Carolina Veterans an opportunity for free legal help with filing or appealing benefits claims with the V.A., provided by volunteer lawyers, may of whom are veterans themselves, and by the student organization.
