FLORENCE, S.C. (AP) - A flagman working in a construction zone in Williamsburg County has been killed after being hit by a truck.
The Morning News of Florence reported (
) that 22-yearold Kenneth Long of Andrews died Monday afternoon at the Medical University of South Carolina Hospital following the early morning crash.
Highway Patrol Senior Trooper Bridget Wyant says the driver of a pickup traveling south on state Highway 41 failed to stop at a construction zone and ran into a car stopped there. The truck veered off and hit Long.
The truck driver was not hurt, and the driver of the car was taken to the Williamsburg County Regional Hospital. Wyant says the case is still under investigation.
The two other drivers' names were not released.
