Columbia, SC (WLTX)-The South Carolina State Museum is celebrating its 25th anniversary, and it wants the public to join in on the celebration by naming one of its most iconic residents.

The three-ton life sized megalodon shark has hung in the museum since 1988 but has never been named.

The five name finalists chosen by the Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind are Carolina, Finn, Meg, Shellie and Stormy.

The shark naming contest will run until next Monday. The winning name will be announced at the museum's 25th birthday party on October 26th.
