COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Fall temperatures are finally arriving in South Carolina with some of the coldest weather of the season expected overnight.
The National Weather Service has issued freeze warnings, frost advisories and freeze watches for many areas of the state Friday with the exception of the immediate coast.
Forecasters say a cold high pressure system will settle over the southern Appalachians.
Winds will be light or calm overnight and skies will be mostly clear, providing conditions for freezing temperatures and frost.
