Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- The Columbia Police Department, following up on a tip of possible drug activity, arrested a man and seized marijuana worth approximately $40,000.

After Midlands Crimestoppers received a tip, Officers went to an apartment on Crossbow Drive in Columbia on Wednesday.

They arrested David Anthony Ryan, 35, and charged him with Possession With Intent to Distribute, and Possession With Intent to Distribute within 1/2 mile of a School.

Officers took control of approximately 8 pounds of marijuana, with a reported street value of more than $40,000.

Ryan was transported to the Lexington County Detention Center.
