Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Columbia police say a driver ran through a barricade and hit one of their patrol cars late Saturday night.

The incident took place around 11:45 p.m. at the intersection of Blossom and Main Streets.

Police had the barricade up as part of their program to regulate traffic flow coming from the USC-Florida game. Police say one officer was outside of his patrol car directing traffic when a woman driving a car ran through the barricade and hit his vehicle.

The officer was not hurt, but his vehicle heavily damaged.

Police say the woman had a child in the car with her. The woman was taken into custody, but it's unclear if she's facing charges.

The Highway Patrol continues to investigate the collision.
