Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- The Richland County Sheriff's Department reports the arrest of an individual charged with two counts of arson.
According to Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott, witnesses identified 18 year-old Brandon Alamin as a person possibly responsible for two fires in October.
The Columbia Richland Fire Department was called to the Ashton Apartments on Longcreek Drive at 9PM October 28th for a fire. When Firefighters arrived on the scene it was discovered the fire in Building 101 at the complex was completely involved, and a 2nd smaller fire was discovered a short time later in Building 105 at the complex.

The Columbia/Richland Fire Marshal Investigators determined both fires were intentionally set.
Following an investigation, and interviews with witnesses that included Alamin, was arrested Friday, Nov. 8th, and transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, where he awaits a bond hearing.
