Lexington, SC (WLTX)- Phyllis Colborne begins decorating for Christmas in September.

A tradition she started nearly 30 years ago with just a couple trees.

"I have 26 trees this year," said Colborne.

Her favorite is her 12-foot tree with 4,000 ornaments.

"I get on a 10-foot ladder and start from the top and work my way down," laughed Colborne.

She moved to Lexington with her late husband 4 years ago. He passed away 8 months ago.

"You just have to keep going," said Colborne.

Each tree has a theme and every decoration has its place. Colborne says many of the ornaments are collectibles and most have a special meaning.

"I have no idea what all of this is worth, no idea," said Colborne.

The 12-foot tree is stored in 22 plastic tubs in the garage and the other decorations are stored in a bonus room off the back of the house.
