HILTON HEAD, S.C. (AP) - The Coast Guard is keeping an eye on a fishing boat in South Carolina waters after rescuing three crew members from the stranded vessel.

The Coast Guard said Sunday it checked for any risk of nearly 300-gallons of diesel fuel aboard the 62-foot fishing vessel Christina Leigh leaking into a river south of Hilton Head Island.

Pollution investigators were inspecting the scene at the mouth of the New River near Calibogue Sound. Petty Officer Anthony Soto says a helicopter crew on Sunday found no fuel spill where the boat ran aground on a sand bar.

Three people aboard the ship were rescued Saturday afternoon ahead of an approaching storm that brought tornado warnings to the area. None reported any injuries.
